DANNY PORATH

We would like to present to you the tenth speaker of „The COINS 2018“ conference – Danny Porath – who is also an international ambassador of our conference! Danny is the Etta and Paul Schankerman Professor in molecular biomedicine at the Hebrew University. He got his B.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics and Electronics, M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Physics at Hebrew University. He did his Postdoctoral work with Quantum Transport group at Delft University of Technology.

ABSTRACT: HOW MAMMALIAN CELLS SENSE PROTEOSTASIS STRESS

We would like to present the abstract of our keynote speaker – Ramunas Martin Vabulas – who is a Group Leader at the Buchmann Institute for Molecular Life Sciences, Goethe University Frankfurt. He together with his coworkers are especially interested in possibilities to destabilize metastatic cell proteomes for therapeutic purposes.

PAULA DUQUE

We want to present you the fifth speaker of „The COINS 2018” conference – Paula Duque – who is the Group Leader at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC) which is located in Oeiras, Portugal. Her major line of work is addressing the biological relevance of alternative splicing in plant systems.

A Nobel Prize laureate in Vilnius University students’ conference

„Try to find out what interests you the most, if that challenge can truly take over your mind. If so, then try finding the best laboratory to solve your problem“ – an advice given to young scientists by professor Erwin Neher, a famous German biophysicist. In 1991 he was awarded with a Nobel Prize for physiology or medicine with professor Bert Sakmann for their discoveries concerning the function of single ion channels in cells.

We want to present you the second speaker of „The COINS 2018“ conference – Urtė Neniškytė – who currently works as Marie Sklodowska Curie Experienced Researcher at the Department of Neurobiology and Biophysics of Life Science Center at Vilnius University, Lithuania.

ERWIN NEHER

We want to proudly present you the first speaker of „The COINS 2018” conference – Nobel prize laureate Erwin Neher, who earned this award together with Bert Sakmann in 1991 “for their discoveries concerning the function of single ion channels in cells”. 

 

JUSTAS DAPKŪNAS

We would like to present the 10th speaker of The Coins 2017 – Justas Dapkūnas.

Dr. Justas Dapkūnas is a researcher at the Department of Bioinformatics of Vilnius University Institute of Biotechnology. He works on the analysis of protein structure, its surface properties and interactions.
